POSITION SUMMARY
7 Degrees Logistics seeks highly skilled leaders with good quantitative abilities for the position of Fleet Manager. Fleet Managers are responsible for assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet. The Fleet Manager is also responsible for maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection and scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency, among other duties. Moreover, Fleet Managers will need to display full ownership and leadership while holding themselves and team members accountable for safety, quality, and efficiency deliverables.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet.
- Developing efficient driver schedules to maximize profits.
- Managing drivers so they adhere to schedules and deliverables.
- Registering and licensing all vehicles under their management.
- Initiating and optimizing cost savings programs and maximizing profits.
- Developing strategies for greater fuel efficiency.
- Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection.
- Complying and reinforcing the U.S. Department of Transportation laws and regulations.
- Scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensuring strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules.
- Monitoring driver behavior and ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Analyzing and deep diving data to increase business/operational efficiency.
- Utilizing eMentor/DVCR/Deputy/Amazon Logistics systems to monitor route progress and fleet tracking.
Day to Day duties Include:
- Efficiently manage all aspects of the shifts daily operation including acting as the point of contact for escalations. Assist Delivery Associates (DA) with emergency procedures and fleet standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Verification of load accuracy and timeliness of warehouse departure. Her/His presence will ensure that there is onsite leadership to complete administrative duties, facilitate nursery routes, and mitigate risks/issues as well as building synergies with Station Manager and other warehouse leaders.
- Exhibit strong leadership capabilities and emphasize collaboration amongst the team members.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with peers and 7 Degrees Senior Leadership as appropriate to maintain consistent messaging and visibility across the team.
- Own and drive the quality of the team behavior (productivity, quality, safety).
- Establish accountability matrix for DOT compliance with documentation.
- Drive company policy compliance and adherence.
- Produce and maintain internal reports related to quality, safety, delivery accuracy, staffing, maintenance and defects.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who is extremely familiar with the fleet functionality inside and out and can teach others to be the most impactful.
- Use data to drive decisions for the fleet upkeep and in support of a flawless rider experience.
- Other task delegated/approved by 7 Degrees leadership team and facilities managers.
Desired Candidate Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in a dispatching, logistics or distribution environment
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
- Effective oral and written communication skills
